Scheduling  Remote Appointments

All remote appointments are through Canvas

1.  For remote appointments, you must first get your instructor’s approval for a remote exam.  Please note that remote appointments cannot be scheduled through Accommodate.

2. Once your instructor approves your request, contact the Testing Center to set up your remote appointment by calling (919) 684‑1601 or emailing testingcenter@duke.edu.

3. The Testing Center staff will then send you a Remote Exam Approval Form, which you must complete and return before your appointment can be scheduled.

4. All remote appointments are proctored using Zoom, which will be scheduled by the Testing Center staff, and Canvas will be your testing platform.  The Zoom invite, along with the link, will be sent to you well in advance of your scheduled test date.

5. What to expect on test day:

Duke photo ID will be required at check-in.

Virtual room scans will be completed.

Screen sharing will be required, and video and microphone are both required to be on at all times.

You will be given a password to access your exam on Canvas.

An irregularity report will be provided to instructors if any irregularities occur (e.g., another person enters the testing space, or the student is heard speaking with someone off-camera).

Testing sessions will be recorded.

Please read our standard Practices and Procedures at the following link before scheduling a remote appointment. https://testingcenter.duke.edu/policies/.
